Opalised Ammolite Ammonite Shell – 56g
This stunning 56g Opalised Ammolite Ammonite Shell is a fascinating natural specimen combining ancient fossil history with beautiful flashes of iridescent colour. Its wonderfully preserved spiral form is predominantly a rich, earthy brown, but when the light catches the surface, vibrant flashes of fiery red, orange, gold and subtle rainbow tones burst through.
The natural spiral structure of the ammonite remains clearly visible, creating a beautiful focal point at the centre of the piece. Around it, the opalised Ammolite produces striking bands and flashes of colour that change depending on the viewing angle and lighting. This play of colour makes the specimen particularly captivating to hold and turn in the light.
Ammonites were marine creatures that lived in prehistoric oceans millions of years ago, making pieces such as this a wonderful physical connection to Earth’s ancient past. The preservation of the characteristic coiled shell combined with its colourful Ammolite surface makes this an especially interesting piece for both fossil and mineral collectors.
Within modern crystal traditions, Ammolite is commonly associated with transformation, prosperity, vitality, creativity and positive change, while the ammonite spiral is often used symbolically to represent growth, evolution and the continuous cycles of life. These associations are traditional beliefs rather than scientifically established effects.
At 56g, this is a lovely display-sized specimen that can be appreciated up close, where its intricate fossil details and changing flashes of colour can really be seen.
