Natural Ammolite Specimen 38g
This spectacular Natural Ammolite Specimen may be compact in size, but it certainly isn’t short on colour. Set against its dark natural matrix are incredible flashes of fiery red, vivid orange, golden tones and vibrant green, creating a dramatic iridescent display that changes as the piece is viewed from different angles.
One of the most captivating features of Ammolite is its natural play of colour. Under different lighting and viewing angles, individual areas can suddenly burst into colour, with the intense reds and oranges particularly prominent in this specimen and smaller flashes of bright green providing a beautiful contrast.
Ammolite is an organic gemstone material formed from the fossilised shells of ancient ammonites, marine creatures that lived in prehistoric seas millions of years ago. The remarkable iridescent layer originates from the shell material, giving pieces like this an incredible combination of gemstone beauty and ancient natural history.
Within modern crystal traditions, Ammolite is commonly associated with transformation, prosperity, vitality, creativity and positive change. Its connection with an ancient fossil is also sometimes symbolically linked with evolution, growth and the passing cycles of life. These associations are traditional beliefs rather than scientifically established effects.
This particular piece is supplied within its protective floating display case, allowing the specimen to be viewed while keeping its delicate surface protected. It makes a fantastic addition to a crystal cabinet, mineral collection or fossil display and would also make an unusual gift for someone fascinated by geology and natural history.
